Suzuki

Suzuki required a marketing strategy to communicate its global Clean Ocean Project in a way that was evidence-led and accessible to a wide audience.

The challenge was to translate complex environmental initiatives into clear, engaging communications, while ensuring consistency across campaigns, events and product messaging. MindWorks’ approach would demonstrate real-world impact and align sustainability with Suzuki’s broader band positioning.

MindWorks developed a cohesive digital marketing strategy and communications framework built around three core pillars, ensuring sustainability was embedded across all activity rather than treated as a standalone initiative.

  1. Cleaning up the world

We organised and delivered a large scale annual beach clean initiative, managing logistics, participation and on-the-ground implementation. The campaign removed 3.5 tonnes of waste from a Scottish beach, supported by content creation and messaging that highlighted community involvement and environmental impact.

  1. Reduced packing

We supported the communication of Suzuki’s packaging reduction strategy, ensuring marketing materials reflected lower environmental impact principles. This included reducing unnecessary printed collateral and integrating sustainability messaging across exhibitions, campaigns and dealer communications.

  1. Microplastic reduction technology

We translated the technical innovation behind Suzuki’s microplastic collection systems into clear, consumer-facing messaging. This positioned the technology as a practical environmental benefit embedded within product design, reinforcing Suzuki’s leadership in marine sustainability.

Across all pillars, MindWorks ensured messaging consistency, alignment with demonstrable action and integration across digital campaigns, live activations and brand communications.

The project delivered both measurable and reputational impact:

  • 5 tonnes of waste removed
  • Increased visibility of Suzuki’s sustainability initiatives across the marine sector
  • Clear differentiation within a competitive outboard engine market
  • Strong brand positioning as an innovator in environmentally responsible engineering
