Oakwood School

The annual magazine for Oakwood School is designed to showcase and promote the wealth of opportunities offered by the school, as well as provide an overview of the academic year, along with insights into all the activities and events that have taken place over the course of the year. The magazine is distributed at the end of the school year to parents / guardians, pupils, staff and prospective parents / guardians.

We have designed Oakwood’s magazine for the past 24 years. Originally a 28-page showcase for pupils’ academic work, it has evolved in style and design to become a 54-page window onto all aspects of life at Oakwood. In keeping with the importance placed on sustainability by the school, the magazine is printed on sustainable forest paper.

While the magazine always contains features such as the Headteacher’s introduction, details of residential trips, sporting events, speech day and images of all the pupils at Oakwood, there is also an annual theme. In 2023, our theme was ‘The Body’, with each page dedicated to a part of the body, portraying the rounded experience pupils enjoy at school, such as the head, legs and eyes depicting academic life, sports and arts respectively. For 2024, the theme is ‘Oakwood’s World of Wonders’, displaying the wonderful creatures that inhabit the Oakwood grounds and the World and linking their attributes to the school subjects. It’s an exciting and visually appealing project to be working on and we look forward seeing the end result.

The magazine has received many glowing testimonials from parents over the years and has become a highly effective marketing tool for the school. Issued free to current pupils’ parents / guardians, it is also given to prospective parents / guardians at open mornings and during school tours, making it a valuable addition to Oakwood’s digital prospectus.
